Buclizine for hives treatment ?

I have a serious outbreak of hives recently and my doc prescribed Buclizine for the condition. The hives caused bad itches all over my body, head, buttocks. However, I've found in the internet that a side effect of Buclizine can serious itching ! Did my doc prescribe the right medication for my hives condition ?
