Can i contract genital herpes from my husband who has had herpes in his eye since he was 2 years old?

i have been tested before my husband and i got together and i was negative,about 11 months after having intercourse for the first time with my now husband i broke out for the first time and my doctor said i have herpes,though we did no tests since i did not have insurance at the time,now im 5 months pregnant and am starting to break out again,i just really want to know how i contracted this since my husband has never broke out in his genital area,therefore i would really like to know if its possible that i contracted it from him when his eye has been broken out,which has happened 2 or 3 times before i had the first outbreak.
